The house for an Art Lover group c: The Oval Room

It was designed by Mackintosh for the ladies to retire after dinner for conversation. The oval shape is because Mackintosh thought that the oval was a feminine shape. Problems crop up with the construction of the building and especially to treat the details and proportions of the rooms. It is composed of a table and four chairs, in an oval shape too. There are three doors opening onto the corridor.There is a fire place as well. This shape was very much used in the tea rooms and were very fashionable in Glasgow

Cette pièce a été conçue par Mackintosh pour que les dames se retirent après le dîner pour la conversation. La forme ovale s'explique car Mackintosh pensait que c'était une forme féminine. Les problèmes surgissent avec la construction du bâtiment et particulièrement afin de traiter les détails et les dimensions des pièces. Elle est composée d'une table et de quatre chaises, de forme ovale aussi. Il y a trois portes s'ouvrant sur le couloir.Il y a une cheminée aussi. Cette forme a été très utilisée dans les salons de thé et était très à la mode à Glasgow.
